چکیده

The throughput performance of cooperative repetition and parallel coding in incremental decode-andforward is investigated. Four transmission methods are considered: parallel coding with and without distributed space-time coding (PC-ST and PC, respectively); and repetition coding with and without Chase combining at the destination (RC and SC, respectively). The analysis is based on the mutual information seen at the receiver for each scheme. Exact expressions for the outage probability and throughput for all methods are derived. Both ad-hoc and infra-structured relaying scenarios are investigated. Results show that SC can perform very close to RC, PC and PC-ST in terms of throughput, specially in the case of infra-structured relaying or adequate power and rate allocation. The conclusion is that SC would be a better option in practice, since it requires a simpler receiver than PC-ST, PC, and RC.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Simple Nonbinary Coding Strategy for Very Noisy Relay Channels

From an information-theoretic point of view, it is well known that the capacity of relay channels comprised of three terminals is much greater than that of two terminal direct channels especially for low SNR region. Previously invented relay coding strategies have not designed to achieve this relaying gain occurred in the low SNR region. In this paper, we propose a new simple coding strategy fo...

Rateless Coding over Wireless Relay Networks Using Amplify/Decode and Forward Relays

In this paper two different rateless transmissionschemes are developed. In the proposed scheme, relay node candecode and forward the message to the destination if they areable to decode it, or amplify and forward the message to thedestination. Based on the analysis and simulation resultsprovided in this paper, the proposed method has bettertransmission time than the scheme which only the relay ...

Throughput and Expected-Rate in Wireless Block Fading Systems

This thesis deals with wireless channels in uncorrelated block fading environment with Rayleigh distribution. All nodes are assumed to be oblivious to their forward channel gains; however, they have perfect information about their backward channel gains. We also assume a stringent decoding delay constraint of one fading block that makes the definition of ergodic (Shannon) capacity meaningless. ...

Bandwidth Efficient Three-User Cooperative Diversity Scheme Based on Relaying Superposition Symbols

Recently, Cooperative diversity in wireless communication systems has gained much attention. A simple two-user cooperative diversity scheme called decode-and-forward cooperation scheme has been presented by Laneman (2004). Each user has one partner to decode its information and retransmit it by employing repetition coding. This scheme can offer diversity order of two. But the bandwidth efficien...
